She could just grab the guard and the stone grenade thing with her magic so he can’t move - or just teleport GlimGlam or the stone-bomb away. Or yank them away with magic while throwing up a shield.

They may have anti magic shields, but they’re not immune to having a building dropped on them. Frankly, top tier magic users like Starlight, wouldn’t have too much of a problem dealing with these lot. She could turn invisible, create illusions, fly, teleport and even move really fast. Beam spam isn’t the only way to fight with magic.
 
The reason why Equestria regularly gets conquered is because the princesses gets disabled as soon as something goes down.

Also, I like how the first pannel looks a lot like the scene from the webcomic Goblins when the soldiers attack the Shield of Wonder.
