Left side represents redeemed antangonists/villains that were used to counter/defeat another villain in the later episodes. So far, Mane 6 needed Discord for Twilight’s last key; Sunset Shimmer to unite the Rainbooms against the Dazzlings; and the Great and Powerful Trixie and Starlight Glimmer helped the Mane 6 to defeat the Queen Chrysalis again.
You’re missing what “antagonist” means. It doesn’t mean the character is evil. Or even bad. It means they are in the role of antagonist to the protagonist. If your protagonist is a thief and her foe is a policepony, the latter is the antagonist despite being on the side of the law.

I say again, Trixie wasn’t a real villain or antagonist–the writers simply shoehorned her into that role to pass off a poorly executed moral.

sure, she was a braggart and a pathological liar, but she didn’t deserve any of the scorn she recieved. there are other characters that do or have done far worse than her; what she did is tantamount to loitering or jaywalking, nothing more.
Do note how the description says “antagonist/villain”. She definitely was the antagonist.

Not so sure about that. Remember, the issue wasn’t defeating Tirek, it was finding him before he grew too powerful. Nopony has the same magic sense he has.

Dragonball Z Syndrome. The villain in the last season always needs to team up with the heroes so they can defeat the villain in the next season.
