Right, its impressive that animating him in a 3-D rotation is hard. but I have noticed that a lot of people have said the cgi in this movie sucks, and this scene in particular looks pretty good.
I know, but I’m not talking about the quality of the background. I mean the turning effect is impressive on the Storm King because he is a two-dimensional character, so they had to intricately animate him to pull off the rotating effect. That is impressive. Turning the view on a three-dimensional model(the background) is not.
The CGI in the scene actually looks very good.
