I’m not being pretentious, I’m just pointing out that scythes are terrible freaking weapons. The cool factor is literally the only plus to such a weapon.

No it’s really not. You actually can’t thrust with the thing. Like….at all. Even if you thrust it forward, the blade means there’s a pretty good chance of it getting caught on something leaving you wide open. As for disarming, no. If anything you are more likely to get disarmed in every since of the phrase.
 
“get behind the opponent and pull into their back for some damage.” Or more likely, while you’re trying to get it behind them, they’ll get in under your guard and catch you with your weapon extended and defenseless.

not if you know how to use it. it’s great for hooking weapons and disarming your opponent, and you can also thrust with it, get behind the opponent and pull into their back for some damage. and you can always use the other end as a blunt edge. it’s really a matter of how you actually use it.

Magic or not, a scythe is a retarded weapon to use.
