I never said it was abuse, I personally just bemoan that it is going to be used for dumb gags.
I just thought it was an odd design choice.
I get the motivation of the other side, I have doubts to its validity if it is merely just complaining about complaining without expressing an actual counterpoint to create discussion.
Again, you’re complaining about complaining instead of presenting counterpoints which I may add was done in this thread just fine.

The way that you presented the other side showed a lack of understanding of their motivation.
The reason I’m calling you a hypocrite is that people tend to react with extreme views regarding any aspect of spike’s portrayal they dislike, so it’s hypocritical to complain about those they disagree with doing the same.
I saw your argument about the ear fin thing, I believe you were saying it didn’t matter and that it looked okay? I disagree but that’s okay.
You were arguing that I was using a strawman. I was basing my assertion on previous experience, plus other posts in this thread.
You called me a hypocrite. Again, I was basing it on my experience that discussing Spike brings out accusations and discussions that no other character gets. This was, again, an observation. In my experience people tend to react with rather extreme views to whenever there is negative feedback on Spikes portrayal.
Maybe you could actually read my comments and try to understand what I am actually saying instead of going of of your preconceived notions of how people whom you disagree with are. Take some time to read my comments in full, break them down logically, and then counter each fallacy you find, acknowledge every valid argument you find, and then come back.
What are you actually trying to say other than calling me a hypocrite for something that you yourself are proving me to be correct? I couldn’t say something about Spike without people getting upset.
That’s not what I said, stop putting words in my mouth. And again, you fail to address any of my other points. Stop skimming my comments and debate what I’m actually saying.

Your argument is that you want people to stop complaining. You can’t stop that.

Seriously, how can you not see your hypocrisy, and why do you keep failing to address any of my arguments?
No one is making you reply. No one is making you express your discontent. You can do so, though. You can complain about complaining as long as I complain. Would prefer if you actually added something to discussing the image though.
Please do not project onto me, and do not put words I’m my mouth. Just because people are frustrated with you does not mean they feel attacked. Those are not the same thing.
You’re welcome to leave the comments at any time. I’m not acting rude to you, you are the one that chose to respond to complaints and apparently feel insulted by it.

Nice strawman. How come whenever I hear arguments like this, the person making the argument fails to consider the reason behind people’s negative reactions in the first place? Have you ever considered that maybe, just maybe, people are fine with the complaints themselves, but are tired of hearing them over and over again?

I forgot how Spike is portrayed as a character isn’t allowed to be discussed, much less talking about how specific things are disliked. I don’t get why people get so touchy about this. No one does it with any other character.

Its stupid. I thought they realized how very few actually find it funny. Honestly I think its more someone on the inside with an irrational axe to grind with his character, which I genuinely do not get.
Also, Spike is basically a little kid so it is very weird when you constantly see him getting shit on while all of these adults do nothing.

The things that are implied to be his ears are now his hands. The earlier version which was basically a mermaid and he had fins separate from his ears made way more sense. Its just a bad design. Its inexplicable that they would go from something that worked pretty well to this, but again, its probably the person with irrational hatred of Spike on the inside.
I’m not basing it on nothing either, until at least S6 the staff believed Spike pratfalls every time on scene was actually funny.
