Heh, I know what you mean, although my own headcanon on the matter is that hippogriffs are simply a diverse lot and not a ‘stable’ separate race. The hybrid mix kind of just getting a random feature assortment, basically. That said, I like the avian features a lot, which is why I designed Vivian this way.

Yeah that’s because he is the popular one, if you go trough the tag “hippogriff” you will see a lot of OCs ponies that only have the talons, NO beak, just the damn talons. And the creators call them “hippogriffs”.
And that pisses me off, bunch of lazy fucks.
