Yeah. While watching this movie, I thought if Tempest finally founds Twilight, she would freeze her into a statue if she finally captures her during her invasion in the beginning of the Storm King’s conquering and brings her to the throne room of Canterlot Castle where the Storm King assume, or in Klugetown, or if she was chasing the Mane Six through Klugetown, or if she finally founds her inside Captain Celaeno’s Ship or if she could sink the ship, or after when Twilight was abandoned or possibly betrayed by the Mane 5 instead of caging her, or if she freezes her after she caged her while lifting her up into the Storm King’s ship’s skiff, or inside the skiff, or after Tempest brings her into the throne room of Canterlot. This moment why Tempest didn’t freeze Twilight into obsidian leads to the Storm King telling Tempest, “Why is this one still moving?” And Tempest tells her master that Twilight and the Mane 5 (mostly Pinkie Pie) had got into a heated fall-out or argument between them and Twilight’s alone now because she was guilty over her actions in Seaquestria (the kingdom that the entire hippogriff/sea-pony population escaped into after the Storm King destroyed their homes), crying over for what she’s done and thinks her friends all hate her or betrayed her now, and saying it’s all her fault Equestria is completely doomed now after the Storm King successfully overthrows her, along with the three other princesses (who were all petrified by Tempest Shadow), Shining Armor and Flurry Heart, arresting, enslaving, punishing, capturing, and seizing all the inhabitants across Equestria, cause great destruction to the kingdom of Equestria, and successfully conquers all of Equestria, and Twilight believes there’s no hop at all anymore this time. Because she was possibly doomed from the start when Tempest was still following her. She didn’t even come close to seek help from Queen Novo. She let everypony including the Mane 5, Spike, Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Princess Cadance, Shining Armor, Flurry Heart, Starlight Glimmer, Trixie, Sunburst, the Cutie Mark Crusaders, the Pillars, Discord, Flash Sentry, Zecora, the Wonderbolts, Songbird Serenade, the Mane Six’s families and friends, and the rest of Equestria, Queen Novo, Princess Skystar, and the hippogriff/sea-pony population down. She failed. Or did she. And also, the Storm King will be like, “You’re supposed to freeze her into statue while following her! Not to caged her like a prisoner!” before Tempest tells the Storm King why Twilight is still un-frozened.

Well, you do see countless ponies/inhabitants across Equestria including SongBird Serenade, Clear Skies, and the Cutie Mark Crusaders being caged or imprisoned in cages by the Storm King and his Storm Foot Soldiers while ruling/conquering/invading/taking over Equestria. All have become prisoners of the Storm King.

Wait. I thought Tempest was about to freeze her in to a statue instead of caging her.

I read the novel and this is a response to RainbowDash69. And if the movie plays out the way the novel goes(which I’m sure it will), I’ll just leave a spoler tag response just in case RainbowDash69 wants to see the movie/read the novel(this pretty much goes for everyone too)… did I give everyone time to look away? Yes? Ok, here we go: Based off your account saying that your whole deal is seeing ponies in chains or cages(mainly Rainbow Dash). As stated earlier, if the movie goes the way the novel goes, then you’re going to love the part in which in order to get back into Canterlot to save Twilight: Capper brings a giant cake(1.That has Captain Celaeno and her crew hiding, 2.Thanks to Pinkie Pie) with the remaining Mane Six(as the novel describes) “bound in shackles”(all part of the plan by the girls Put aside what I just spoiled, the novel is actually really good and has got my excitement for the movie really high

Technically a spoiler to the novel/movie, but still putting up a spoiler tag just in case: To answer your first question, there’s an explanation to why she isn’t frozen. As for the second question, I mean there’s TECHNICALLY a reason why, but it’s kinda confusing in a way. It’s hard to explain without giving it away. Overall, the novel is actually really good and is making me excited for the actual movie in October

Oh yeah. Now I remember.

I haven’t read the book, and even if this wasn’t explained this is still nitpicking, by why isn’t she being turned to stone like the other princesses? Are they out of the petrifying rocks?  
I’m just going to assume they also explain why she just can’t teleport out of the cage. Probably just disabling magic.  
Getting more hyped for this movie every new screenshot! Some things are looking slightly disappointing, but I’m still excited!

If you want to know, her idols were turned to stone in front of her, she was forced to run from her birthplace as it was sacked, she was nearly sold into slavery by the one kind face in a wretched hive of scum and villainy, the very creatures she spent all that trouble trying to find said they didn’t want to help, and her friends kept goofing things up the entire way. So…she was having a very, VERY bad day.

I’ve read the novel, and…
 
Twilight tries stealing the seaponies’ deus ex machina pearl that could’ve solved everything, because they didn’t want to give it up. The sad thing is, her friends were just about to convince the seaponies to hand it over anyway, but because they didn’t really make the best decisions during their trip, Twilight felt she couldn’t rely on them anymore.  
In short, Twilight done bucked up.

Eh, it’s a good way to keep prisoners from escaping…. and I like seeing ponies in prisons or restrained in any way. it’s kinda my obsession. It will be fun to see how she escapes the cage, too. kinda like those daredevil stunts! And she looks pretty cute when she’s in a cage
