@redweasel
Just because someone wants a responsibility doesn’t mean they’re competent to it. Scootaloo might be able to nurture a child, but she’s still a child herself, and worse, a single mother; she’s already failed as a mother.
And to hell with her damn feelings. They’re not an excuse for putting a newborn in a worse situation than it has to be in.
@Tetrominon
Did they both decide to have a child? No, they decided to bump uglies.
Now, this is important, so pay attention.
In this day and age, the decision to have sex is not a decision to risk having a child. Because there are ways to have sex and not have a child, even if a pregnancy should occur, those being abortion or adoption. But those options are only open for the mother to choose, alright? Thus, the father does in fact not get a say in whether or not to have a child.
So your question is false. This is not a “decision they both made together”. And I don’t think risking pregnancy is a decision children should be allowed to make.
Well, obviously in the context of this particular story, they didn’t even know they were making any kind of decision beyond having sex.
I believe alsosprachodin was saying she shouldn’t be burdened with any of the responsibility, because it’s their parents-or-legal-guardians who didn’t teach them about the consequences of yiffing soon enough. so the grandparents/orphanage/sandy should have to take the foal.
my opinion is scootaloo should be burdened with the responsibility because she wants to. even though “wants to” amounts to looking at him being cute and getting an oxytocin rush, it’s still really hard on her if she tries to let him go. like most mothers, she has no choice but to love him, so trying to do what’s “right” would hurt her too much to be justifiable.
The question you’re trying to ask is, “should the decision (of him being held responsible) be left to Scootaloo?”
Uh… no, it wasn’t. Not even remotely. The question I meant to ask was the exact question that I did ask, but since you seem to be having trouble understanding it that way, I’ll try again from another angle:
Why should Scootaloo be burdened with all the responsibility from a decision they both made together?

Personally, I think the baby should be the grandparents responsibility for not raising their children better.
Earlier in the story, Scootaloo said she didn’t know what sex was and only did it because she saw Rainbow Dash do it. It was only after she got pregnant that she had her sex ex class.
I’m not fond of how Rain Catcher is treated in this story either. He did earlier try to make amends but Scootaloo claimed that she no longer had feelings for him. And he did give her a large check for child support.
But this is the official description and there isn’t any other to include with these.
“Not taking responsibility for the child”
Don’t imply the stupid “father” should ‘‘take responsibility”. They’re both 13, they’re not old enough to raise a child, a girl that age isn’t even developed enough to give birth to one. They shouldn’t have had sex, but both of them decided to anyway. They should at least have used every possible prevention, but they didn’t. She should get an abortion, but she won’t. She should set the baby up for adoption, but she won’t.
Every fucking step of the way, Scootaloo decides to have this child. Even if some boy was stupid enough to have sex with her, he shouldn’t be held responsible for her decisions.
well I care about her feelings. it doesn’t seem like he’s in any distress either.
