True, but that’s still less than a foot and a half wide, and the pile depicted is clearly several times that size.

We’ve seen Treasure in the same frame as Richard – >>1144536 – and he’s a good half Richard’s size so even if Richard’s a really short guy, like 4 feet (which he doesn’t seem to be) Treasure would be two feet and the pile here is several times that wide.

What’s the relative we’re measuring the pile of gold too? Because arguably we may not have a canonical size to ponies (this includes the Equestria Girls ad, thing). And even then, we may have some variance in height and Treasure could be taller or shorter than the average (I use him because his size may be the only thing we can “know”)
If you presume that pile of gold coins have 40% of air between them, it would have diameter of 43.7 cm³.

At Earth gold prices of (as of today) US$39.58/gm, $10mil buys 252653 grams of gold, which at a density of 19.32 gm/cm3 has a volume of about 13077 cm3. That would be a hemispherical pile of gold 18cm in radius.
This must be Equestrian prices. Or gold-plated bedding material.
