Description

The buzzing sound of a magic shot ripped through the air, as the energy landed upon the potted plant without causing as much as a flicker of it’s supposed effect.
“Why won’t this work?!” The light blue mare groaned as she frowned at the poor flower, that after a second or so dropped one single petal. Above her, a small snort could be heard…
“Oh no, no, no, look, it is working!” A floating draconequus came twisting its own body through the air as he placed a talon upon the fallen petal. “Look at this wrinkled, worn-out petal… At this rate, you’ll finish plucking it in one hour or so.” With a tone of mocking to his voice, Discord floated upside down as his wings barely flapped, what made even less sense in the position he was in right now.
Trixie huffed and gave him a deep scowl, as she was rinsing and repeating the infamous age spell for a while now… She had to remember what Starlight told her, but it was not the easiest thing in the world with an annoying, sarcastic, narcissistic, self-centered noodle getting under her skin every time she failed or the spell backfired… Not that sometimes he wasn’t helpful, in his own way; but most of the time, Discord only managed to keep her determination burning more and more intensely by provoking her.
However as a quick thought crossed her mind, suddenly a malicious smile grew upon her lips; and to that, Discord raised an eyebrow.
“I think that the great and powerful Trixie is having only one issue with the age spell, as she knows it quite well already.”
One of his ears twitched as this caught his interest for a moment; Snapping his talons he spawned a cotton candy cloud and laid upon it.
“Oh really? Enlighten me then.” The draconequus said nonchalantly before summoning Gummy to file his talons.
“Well, those “safe” targets that Starlight has picked for me are useful but slightly… Difficult to aim at, sometimes. If just I had something bigger to shot at…” Raising a hoof, she spun it around slightly as she rolled her eyes to gaze across the room. The pink unicorn that was her dear friend had gone out for a short while to fetch more books from the library, and currently, the room where she and Discord were in, had no one but them.
“Like a cactus or a rubber tree~~” As he mentioned those plants, a 5-meter tall potted cactus suddenly appeared out of thin air, placed right beside Twilight’s throne; It had pins attached to it instead and a sombrero on it’s highest “arm”. And then a giant rubber tree sprouted through the floor right after it and kept growing up rapidly, going through the tall and wide door by the room’s entrance; as if this was not enough, the tree was partially colorful and some of its vines were truly made of rubber.

“No! By bigger, I meant a living, WALKING thing! How can the great and powerful Trixie cope with the aging of a stupid little flower, or those weird plants?!”
She screamed dramatically as she dangled from one of the vines that had swept her out of the floor when that weird tree suddenly grew out of nowhere… Trying to free herself only made the situation worse.
At this point Discord couldn’t help but snicker at the vision, it was simply too amusing.
“Why of course, silly me… Let’s just pick up a random pony and try your little spell on them!” With a small burst of speed, he floated in quite the close range and put one of his arms around her shoulders, using a talon to hit her horn lightly, making it flicker with small sparks of magic. “Since we both know she will be quite pleased to know you would test unstable magic on a fellow diminutive equine.”
“Ha, that’s where you’re deadly wrong, draconequus! I plan on using my powers on a living creature… But that creature will be you!”
… There was a moment of silence before Discord digested her statement. With a snap of his claws, the giant multicolored rubber tree and the sombrero-wearing cactus disappeared as if they had never existed.
“Excuse me? When did we ever agree on that?”
“Oh we didn’t, but Trixie assumed the powerful, boundless, “amazing” lord of chaos, would have no problem with being the little subject to a harmless age spell; After all, you are capable of ripping the very fabric of reality.” Turning his back to him, the mare walked away slowly as she pecked at his eyes over her shoulder… “Unless you’re afraid of my great magic, that as you stated before, don’t do as much as tickle you.” With clear sarcasm but mainly a challenging tone in her voice, she threw in the bait…
For a short moment, Discord’s eyes shone dangerously with a red light to his irises. But a large grin grew on his lips as he couldn’t help but laugh… He had bit it.
“Oh, please! As if somepony like you could do as much as change a single strand of my mane! Go on, give me your best shot.”
Using one claw from his lion paw, he made a golden X in the middle of his chest and opened his arms wide as he floated 2 meters above the floor. The sound of hooves seemed to be approaching from outside.
Sighing deeply, Trixie concentrated… Rewinding exactly the words that Starlight had poured onto her mind once, a very good advice.

Again, Discord could hear the sound of a horn charging up, but he simply stood there airborne with not a care in the world… The buzzing got louder; he felt tempted to laugh as he saw the mare tensing up… The magic aura around her horn was growing stronger, and perhaps it would do more than tickle him, but he was sure nothing else would really happen~~

It was… Until his whole world got turned upside down.

“Ow…” Raising his own body from the floor, Discord felt disorientated as he came back to his senses… Not like he really had lost consciousness, as he only blacked out for a second; Unfortunately it was long enough to make him collapse to the cold, polished floor of the throne room. His vision flickered with small pinkish stars, as the image of an overly excited unicorn mare slowly stopped rotating in his head… As his poor pupils finally adjusted again, the blurred image went away, however, he was meet with the terrifying image of Trixie with her horn lit up and muzzle only a few centimeters from his own.
“HA! Who is laughing now?! The great and powerful Trixie is victorious!”
“Wait, what~~” His voice came out high-pitched and much softer than usual, making Discord shut up immediately as he noticed how he sounded; instantly the fur around his neck prickled up and so did the fur and feathers in the rest of his body. The room around him was weirdly dark, and a thick pinkish fog seemed to fill it… But worst of all: Trixie could reach his eye level and he was sure that he was sitting on his hind legs.
Something just felt horribly wrong.

“I can’t believe it worked! I mean, of course, I can!” Trixie quickly corrected herself before jumping around, still boasting with excitement. “I’m great and powerful after all, but to think the pupil would put the master to her hooves… It’s just too delightful!”
Shoving a hoof to his fluffy chest, she had a smug smile and a dangerous glow in her eyes.
“How does that feel, Lord~~” Interrupting herself for a short moment, she snorted and then corrected her words. “Oh, sorry, I meant… Prince of Chaos?”
Speechless. The poor draconequus couldn’t utter a single word, as he stared at her in shock and held his paw and talon close to his chest, in the natural instinct of protecting himself. The same magical aura that she had in her horn was floating just above his heart, indicating that the age spell had somehow attached itself to him.
“You…”
He finally managed to emit a single word, trying to sound as threatening as he could but only achieving an upset and flustered tone. His voice was much softer now and had totally lost that remarkable deepness and sarcasm it normally had. Chaos magic was floating around them too at this point, and neither of them noticed the door that previously leads to the room had somehow reappeared in the ceiling.
Trixie giggled as she couldn’t have enough of this, it was just priceless.
“You..!” She repeated in the same distressed tone, pointing a hoof at his muzzle as she sat down on her hind hooves and held his cheeks with her front hooves. “What are you gonna do, drown me into pure fluffiness? Because I see that you have that in spades right now!” Laughing more hysterically, she released his face and started fanning herself with one of her hooves. “Who could imagine the mighty lord of chaos was once just a lil, cute, ball of fur!”
Those words made Discord’s stomach tingle, and he felt his face being set aflame… Naturally, his magic started acting havoc, but before he would just explode from sheer embarrassment, the door on the ceiling burst open.
“What in the name of Celestia is happening here?!”
The purple Alicorn Princess came flying down as Starlight levitated herself by her side… As they came to land right beside Trixie and Discord, their jaws dropped.
Silence reigned for a moment before Trixie weirdly placed a hoof on Discord’s shoulder and smiled innocently.
“The… Age spell worked? He…”
The teenager cub retaliated as he spread his wings reflexively and hissed at her, putting his lion paw on her face and pushing her muzzle away slightly.
Immediately the whole room’s gravity turned off and nimbus clouds appeared on the floor… Naturally, they started to rain, but the water didn’t fall, it rose up to the ceiling instead. As Twilight failed to process whatever she had to do, Starlight just spun in the air aimlessly and with a tired expression.
Those two… What a troublesome duo.
