Although it has definitely been confirmed that they are deceased, it does not mean we won’t see them again. We could be gifted with another flashback story highlighting their lives with the young Big Mac, Applejack, and maybe even Applebloom.

Somehow, I’m just hoping they’re not dead. If I could just see them once again on the future episodes of this show, coz I think I got a bit too obsessed on this ship.
 
Plus, there’s this one thing I couldn’t describe that will definitely fit their relationship with each other.

Watching it again (for like the fifth time) I can’t help but feel like the fact that everyone talks about their relationship so wistfully isn’t ‘ugh bad writing they’re so unrealistic’, it just further confirms to me that they’re dead, making the ponies who praise their relationship do so because of nostalgia.

On top of that, it’s the second time Songco and Lewis have demonstrated their talent for writing romantic dialogue in this show. When other characters aren’t trying to hammer home how in love they are (pretty much my only nitpick; Mrs. Cake can only say “It was the most romantic thing ever” so many times before it becomes too tacky), just the simple interactions between Bright Mac and Pear Butter is enough to show you that these two are in love. It’s far more than just two characters bumping into each other, pointing it out, giggling and blushing, and then going about their day (looking at you, FlashLight); there’s actual chemistry here.
