Yeah, I think that episode was kinda poking fun at that kinda thing, which has been happening with fandoms sense the “Star Trek original series VS Next Generation” nerd debates.

Everybody’s got their own different opinion, and that’s fine. Just so long as they don’t take a different opinion as a personal attack and come out fighting.
Indeed… I don’t love every game, but I still enjoy the Sonic series, old or new. I look forward to both “Sonic Forces” & “Mania.”
