Gender: Female
Sexuality: Pan
Parents: Scootaloo & Gabby
Species: Griffon/Pony cross
Talents/Abilities: Excellent grace, power and speed when flying. Loves gardening and working with plants. Almost always in a good mood and eager to spend time with friends.
Shortcomings: Short temper. Terrible planner. Tends to take things too far.
History:
Grey came about not long after Gabby agreed to be Twilight’s test subject for a new spell she was developing. The gender spell had proven itself difficult to master, but not impossible. After a week of trials Twilight finally succeeded and managed to turn Gabby into a male griffon. However, the spell had drained the princess of her magic temporarily and she was unable to turn Gabby back to normal immediately. Not wanting the new spell to be public knowledge before it was perfected, Twilight had Gabby stay in the castle until she could change her back. During this time, Scootaloo stayed with her beloved wife and the two decided to experiment a little. 11 months later, after a long and difficult pregnancy for Scootaloo, (and after Twilight put Gabby’s anatomy back to normal) Grey Gale was born.
Grey was a very happy child who took to the skies as soon as her little wings could lift her. She was quick to make friends both in Ponyville and in Cloudsdale after attending Jr. Speedsters Flight Camp. When she started attending school the class bullies wasted no time in calling out the half-pony freak and Grey wasted no time in giving the leader of the group a good right hook. She quickly garnered a reputation for being quick tempered and a bit violent, though her friends knew her for who she really was. She eventually grew out of the “punch first ask questions never” mentality, but her temper remained close to the surface.
As Gabby got older she dreamed of being a Wonder Bolt and started training after school and even researching all about the Wonder Bolts and their history. She applied to join the recruits when she was old enough but was denied due to her race. She applied again a year later, with the support of Princess Twilight and the approval of Rainbow Dash. This time she was accepted, albeit begrudgingly. Grey was one of the best flyers, but was continually held back by the Academy heads. Still, she managed to pass all of her courses and was celebrated among a good portion of her peers. While she was not awarded the highest marks, her talent and skill was undeniable and she graduated the academy with the rest of her class, much to her mother’s pride.
