Actually what she said was:
 
“…the spirits of The Elements of Harmony are right here.”
“[pony name], who [did a thing], represents the spirit of… [their element]!”
“The spirits of these five ponies got us through every challenge you threw at us.”
“…The spark ignited inside me… …You see, Nightmare Moon, when those Elements are ignited by the… the spark, that resides in the heart of us all, it creates the sixth element: the element of… magic!”
 
So, unclear, not sure what exactly it all means. She said “the spirits of The Elements of Harmony are right here”, but the ponies “represent the spirit of” each element. And that when she realized they were her friends it created the sixth element.
 
It’s all rather nebulous and I don’t really see the difference aside from semantics.
 
But she did say the spirits were there, which means either the wreckage of the Elements had value or the spirits were nebulous and with each pony or whatever, you could argue that forever without getting anywhere.

Just a thing… They defeated Nightmare Moon after she’d shattered the Elements, and Twilight said she couldn’t destroy them because their spirits were inside her friends, so…
 
Another interesting note is that they were stone orbs, then they became gold jewelry.

So….the climax is going to be a mad dash towards the tree of harmony isn’t it? I swear the comic could end here and now by Doctor Who Dues Ex Machina logic.
