Yeah, the longer you spend on something, the lower the proportion of time spent actually aroused by your own work. Especially with SFM or other 3D pics or animations, I’ll bet, because of the time required.

Some are and tbh it depends if you get frustrated or spend a hella lot of time on something even if its a delicious horse cock or puss or ponut, staring for hours just to get it right then you would lose sexual enjoyment on it

I can totally understand how a low arousal might help creating ‘lovely?’ clop fics or pics… Too much and you can’t get your work done though. And I can totally understand what you mean by looking at something analytically only after long enough. I think it’s because we humans ( for those artists that are :P ) tend to focus and ignore everything but the task. I once created a safe edit of a NSFW explict pinky while my mum entered during the early stage of editing and it took me some time to notice WHAT I was actually editing. (She didn’t saw it but she’s quite tolerant so I guess she would be just slightly confused if she had, hehe)

From what I’ve heard, if you do get aroused from you own art, it’s bound to go away at some point, especially if it takes hours to make something… eventually you get used to it and start looking at it analytically, and you kinda have to in order to get it just right.
 
It probably varies from person to person though. I’m a writer who’s occasionally written clop, and it’s a little different for me - I’m required to vividly imagine the scene while writing it, and that tends to maintain a low level of arousal during the work… at least for a while. On the other hand, I’ve also been able to write (well, RP) clop in public because I myself wasn’t hot and bothered by it, and was able to remain calm enough to multitask between the writing and whatever non-sexual thing I was otherwise doing.
