Whatever I may have thought about the new Changelings, Loupgarou’s version of Thorax is magnificent.

Well that’s your opinion. Not everyone is going to think the same way you do.
 
But I think it’s really the sheer contrast in color that puts people off about the new changeling design. Though I also think that if the new changelings would’ve just used a solid two colors instead of three, it might’ve been better overall.

Disliking is fine. Most of my annoyance is, again, from a very specific crowd. And, again, I apologized before if that wasn’t clear. I can think of under ten users on here, maybe a dozen more across other sites in-particular. Disliking is one thing, instigating negativity and fruitless arguments in almost every artwork and post on something until you start to ruin other people’s enjoyment of comment sections is not.

And you’ll have to deal with ‘hate sprinkling’ as differing opinions don’t always mean downright hate and people are allowed to express them as long as they’re not being rude or confrontational. People can like and dislike Starlight, people can like and dislike changedlings, and you can simply ignore the ‘hate’ if you don’t enjoy it, as much as I can ignore the love if I don’t like it.

Yeah, but the fact that there was a drama explosion about the changelings that has only really been eclipsed by Twilicorn is a testament to the very drama I’m saying I, and a lot of people are sick of. That’s my point. Yeah, the changelings don’t have a lot of influence, but they still had a massive drama llama fest because the changelings as a species of characters have had more of a fanbase than any other villains, I’d say rivaling or exceeding even Discord.
 
You won’t find argument from me on that point. The changelings are less of a deal than Twilicorn was. Is exactly why I’m rolling my eyes that it’s taking so long for the constant hate sprinkling around to die.

Not every situation is the same though, Alicorn Twilight is a main character, and her change governed a lot of stuff to, well, change. Changedlings, not quite as much, as their overall structure isn’t all too different, they don’t appear much to begin with, and the change seems to really just be cosmetic as far as we can tell. They’re not exactly similar situations, especially when the biggest cosmetic different Twilight got was a pair of wings and a slightly taller body.

Didn’t say it not being current was invalidating, just saying that after seven months, only the diehard haters are the ones still adamantly starting drama and arguments in new artworks and threads about it. Same exact thing happened back when Twilicorn happened. I’m just sore at those people, in-particular.

Generalizing is never a good thing, nor is black and white opinions. People have their own reasons for liking and disliking what they do, and something not being current doesn’t invalidate that.

Acting like everyone who doesn’t like the new designs “just can’t get over it” isn’t any more of a mature angle than said people who truly can’t get over us. Those of us who simply don’t like the new designs aren’t all clingy.
 
Don’t generalize others simply as they have a different opinion, it;s possible to dislike a change ans not be a dick about it, as it is possible to not mind a change and not talk down to those who don’t like it.

Caterpillars look nothing like the butterflies they turn into, why do the changelings need to? If you’re going to change your entire food system and general alignment scale you might as well go big or go home. That’s how bugs usually do it in nature. I get why people are butthurt, no one likes sudden change especially large scale, but at the same time the designs really aren’t out of place in the lore nor in the show’s style so, it’s really just people being clingy with old designs.
 
Honestly we’re going on month seven of post-changedlings. I know I, and a lot of other people have stopped caring to weigh in nearly as often, on the discussions started by folks who still can’t get over it. Gotta work with what you get. Unless some of the diehard haters want to actually try and join DHX or the Hasbro Executive Cabinet to make their expectations a reality, they should give it a rest in my opinion.

I think the reason people don’t like the new changeling look is because it’s so different from the original, that being mainly in their color scheme. I think that if it were closer to the original but with a healthy changeling look, it would work out far better.
 
I personally think it would’ve been better if they kept the original changeling colors, but made them sparkly and got rid of the leg holes and such.

Atlas style is lookin pretty badass.

Actually, yeah, making them look more mammalian could also work, especially towards the pony society integration thing. :3

Love the last two. And I don’t think fairy is far-fetched or weird at all. Changelings are fairies in original lore, and now that they’ve transformed they even have the kinds of wings many fairies in various mythos do. Kinda hoping for bad-ass special powers kind of like the flutterponies had in G1 honestly.
