I’ve gone into great detail about the new changelings and yeah they ruined the them both narratively and in looks. I’m not going to re-explain all of it but in short they have no importance they can just get love from one another which means they might as well just be able to eat regular food because there is no longer a point to their feeding habits and they are basically just like ponies so there is nothing to learn from one another or overcome. They also look like someone ate a bunch of crayons and vomited these things into existence.
 
I don’t really care what the show does to Chrysalis I’m done with the show and I know it won’t be good so I won’t be having anything to do with that noise.

They didn’t “ruin” the Changelings, they just changed them– I mean come on, it’s right there on the tin.
 
There are still any number of ways they could _~destroy~ Chrysalis if they really wanted to go that route; it would be as simple as “Wellp, guess she couldn’t handle that much love so she evaporated lol!”, which I was honestly expecting to happen when that Love Overclockin’ scene started rolling, so I was legit surprised she survived the S6 Finale at all.

The problem with that is if they kill her that’s just going to put a stain on the ponies, they didn’t actually kill Sombra they just activated a barrier that did it in the process. So just straight up ending her life would be murder, even just getting rid of her in general would mean getting rid of the only villain left in the show.
 
Like I said if the above happened and if the show hadn’t shot themselves in the foot and ruined the changelings there could have been some interesting synergy added to the show with Chrysalis and her kind learning to integrate with ponies and overcoming the obstacles of two different species. But they pretty much fucked that up.
 
So really the best case scenario is her just coming back again and again, I agree it’s stupid but out of the options it’s the only one that is the least awful considering the last option I brought won’t happen or if it does it’ll be her turning into a skittle bug and being completely pointless or she’ll just be forgotten and pushed aside. So yeah I’d say team rocket villain is unfortunately her best option.

You don’t think that would dilute the villainous qualities that make her interesting in the first place? I’d honestly rather she gets a hard resolution all at once– regardless of what direction they take it– than see her turned into a running gag joke villain who blasts off agaaaaaiiiiinnnnn every time she appears. Discord had a lot more fans and a lot fewer detractors by percentage when he was a Season Premiere Villain who got blasted back to the Stone Age at the end and was presumed over-and-done-with; now that he’s a regular recurring character there are a lot more fans who are are sick of him.

This is a good ending.

At least it’s the lesser of two evils, possibly three, I’d rather have this than having turn into a gaudy abomination or just being killed off and never appearing again. Best case scenario she stays a villain and returns every so often with a new scheme.
