As for the potential of this being ripped off, I think you’ll have to settle for coincidence: that first sketch of yours only predates the story this character is from’s beginning by 10 months and it’s very unlikely Almanac would have seen your drawing to rip it off.
 
You’re not the only one who found this a bizarre situation, however. I have my own musing parallel… though admittedly that was a temporary look for the character.

Meh. I don’t really care. Just wondering what the guys inspiration was. Unless he stright ripped off the design from me (which is unlikely as there are probably several characters out there in the all of the stories of the world that use an look similar to this)  
I’m safe in my belief OC is probably older then this one… (and by older I mean I created her first)
 
If you look up the oc:stranger tag on derpibooru you’ll see that two of the pictures are of my oc… one is a crappy mouse done drawing I did back before I had a drawing pad about 3 years ago, and another is a recent commission I got done. One is gay porn which we’ll just ignore… And the one is your picture here. Which is a very nice picture by the way. I like your style.

Well… I also have an OC who’s covered in bandages with a duster and hat combo… and also uses a rifle. (though she’s not a FoE character) And is also bloody called “Stranger” 0_0 wut.

That’s more just parts where my style didn’t work too well with the intention of the commissioner; the bandages were supposed to be tight to the body and I lean towards loose fit things so it ended up looking a little odd in my style :p

Are those bandages, or a wrap of dull colored scrim netting to conceal the character’s coloration and break up the distinctive outline? On the face and ears it looks a bit more like camouflage face paint has been applied; is this intentional? If so, 10/10 for camouflage discipline in the field.
