It’s confirmed that they have some sort of lizard tail. Whatever they are supposed to be, I’m not sure.

What tuypo1 said. MLP: FiM is successful enough for Hasbro to pull this off with ease.  
And I saw you making a lot of negative statements about the movie already and viewing a lot of it with pessimism, so, your assumption that the movie can’t be three hours long is merely based on your distrust into it, which is never a good assessment.

Sure it will be expensive but it is going to make more money then anything not by disney this year they can afford to make it long.

A three hour animated movie would be extremely expensive  
I expect it to be around one hour fourty minutes or probably an hour twenty roughly the same length as an EQG movie.

I wonder if that is going to be an actual thing or if Hasbro was just thinking:
 
“Hey, we already have some characters in the movie that are pirates, so why not releasing some Mane Six pirate toy figures? Gets us some more money!”
 
Anyway, if that is actually happening, we already know that Applejack makes for a pretty good seadog. :D  
And the more details we get about the movie, the more I get the feeling it’s going to be a really long movie.  
I will geek out even more than I already do if it turns out as a three hour epic! :D

guessing they are supposed to be ‘harpies’ as the name of their species. even though harpy largely refers to female entities but whatevs.

Wait, Applejack has two figures in the GoH line while Fluttershy was a overpriced SDCC exclusive, and Rarity has had no appearance in GoH yet.
 
I am not complaining about AJ, just the lack of Fluttershy, and Rarity.
