This water hemlock thing looks like younger brother to hogweed. Meaner one too, at least hogweed has the dignity of only fucking you up if you actually touch it, and is blister agent as opposed to full-on neurotoxin water hemlock is.
…also apparently people sometimes somehow confuse water hemlock (a herb) and elderberry (a tree).
My point about Celestia being a witch stands. She has an entire old-growth forest as her garden.
Y’see the little white flower clusters that look like miniature fireworks closest to the water’s edge?
Water hemlock.
Apparently, even the pollen of this plant has been known to cause respiratory damage to passersby. At the Black Hills national forest-
went hiking there in the fall of 2016-, they made it a point to kill those things off! They are rather distinct if you read up on them.I also recognize the little flower cluster in the very center at the bottom of the pic (they have the same color of flowers as the hemlock, but the florets are arranged differently); they seem to be a kind of parsnips. From what I’ve read on those, they are edible; however, don’t expose any of the juices that you get on you to the sun, they react to the light and leave quite a terrible burn.
Care to say which ones?
Also, if this is the garden, Celestia is a witch.
Warning, she may want to kill off a few of the ones closest to the water.
