Mrs. Cake & Rarity’s/Sweetie’s Mom in particular have proven somewhat popular too, and they’re some of the only chubby characters in the show.

I guess Sweetie takes after her Mom in the above pic. Hehe (The artist even jokingly calls her “Sweetie Whale.”)

There’s alot of people who are no better then those they put down.

Okay, so I’m not missing anything then. Looking at their artist tag, the other pics with bigger characters are pretty cute, too.

Really does make me think that a lot more people are attracted to it or think a lot of the art is cute or something than I ever really acknowledged.

Given that “derpibooru fat” always shows up as a search suggestion, despite me having never searched for that, it’s probably safe to say a good number of people like heavier characters for one reason or another.

Everyone’s a pervert, to a certain degree, after a certain age. It’s about how you handle it around people that matters. People that call out others over the internet for being perverts are usually hypocrites or too dumb to realize that it’s possible to be perverted and behave around people.

Indeed. Well said. Some just don’t understand.

I remember a guy who used to be on DeviantArt (a place that has a surprising amount of “chubby-chasers”) was constantly bashing “fat & inflation artists” on his page (even drew a few pics mocking them) calling them perverts, and accusing them of “objectifying women,” and such…
Ironically, he drew art usually depicting scantly clad, busty females… So he’s not one to demonize others.

I try to convince myself that there is really no shame in my attraction to female weight gain. It’s been a part of me for so long, that eventually, I got tired of hiding it and decided to at least anonymously express it on the internet. Never directly telling anyone or letting anyone find out irl. There are a lot of other people like you and me. And, a lot of people have their own fetishes, and have learned to accept them. I also maintain that I have no ill will intent against anybody, especially women. I keep to my fantasies. And, that’s it. Not hurting anyone. If I were ever in a relationship, I would never impose my fetishes on her.

Anyone can appreciate many forms of art for any reasons. And, artists like experimenting with a lot of things. No shame in either. Don’t feel bad about it. At least, I don’t believe there should be shame. Sadly, people will sometimes try their hardest to make you feel that shame when they find out, though.

I hate to admit it, but I do like some fat art, or chubby characters. lol don’t really know why.
Not just for fetishy reasons, mind you. Though, I admit I find some chubby women attractive, but that doesn’t mean they all have to be. I like thin ones too.

I know some fat art does get downvoted. Honestly, it’s usually when the quality isn’t the greatest, no offense to artists. But, people downvote stuff just for not looking as good as they would like.

I’ve come to realize when thinking about this conversation that fat art actually gets upvoted way more than one would expect around here. Really does make me think that a lot more people are attracted to it or think a lot of the art is cute or something than I ever really acknowledged.

I also realized that tags associated with fat art are probably hidden by enough people that they couldn’t get more downvotes, because people who don’t like don’t see and judge anyway. LOL

Maybe some just don’t like the art style, so the chubbyness/olderness might not be the main factor, or perhaps just a minor one.

Also, actually, some “fat art” does get downvoted. Like this piece >>283061 drawn by some weirdo. I’ve seen “worse” or stuff much disturbingly fatter that hardly gets any downvotes. So it’s confusing.

It clearly isn’t fetish material. Just that the artist likes drawing big bodies, in general. And, has had innocent pieces before.

You might be right about the age thing, actually. The idea of middle age Buttonbelle is probably not what people are used to, especially if they have become portly. But, again, just a petty reason to me.

Is this even meant to be fetishy at all? I could be missing something, but to me it just looks like an affectionate middle aged Sweetie/Button couple. Maybe jumping their age that far is what people aren’t liking?

@Beau Skunky
I’ll admit that’s throwing me off a bit, but in a “wait, how does that work?” sense and not an “eww, gross” sense.

That’s strangely contradictory to me, if that’s the case. We’ve gotten to the point where people have more of a problem with some scruffiness being thrown in than just obesity by itself? Like, I figured that more people could look past that a little more so than fat. Then again, I have noticed that most fat art surprisingly gets very few downvotes in general, around here.

Maybe there are a lot more FA’s around here than I thought. And, a bunch of us don’t like hairy guys. LOL

Maybe Button’s hairyness squicks some out.

I actually find it kinda cute too actually. I like how they both still adore each other, even though they’re older & chubby.

Why did this get so many more downvotes than other fat art? This is a lot more wholesome and less fetishy. It’s kinda cute, actually. And, also makes some sense. I can picture them being this way if they were together when they are older. So, I more so expected people to like it. Strange.
