Some more assets for the museum I’m working on. Sheesh, I suspect I’m overthinking this, but whatever.
Ponified Buddha statue. Or more precisely, the bodhisattva named Amitābha. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AmitC481bha if you are interested) I figure if I’m going to engage in some cultural appropriation I should at least be self-aware about it, and try to be respectful.
Body is also derived (with a bunch of editing) from a CC-0 asset found at http://www.blendswap.com/blends/view/70512
The original model has a swastika on the chest, since that is a symbol common to many flavours of buddhism. For obvious reasons, I changed that so a sunburst, since it is appropriate within pony.

So far my 3d printing colour choice has usually been “whatever filament I have lying around” :) Though if not a greyish colour like in the image, a reddish terracotta sort of thing might look good.

Well, I’ve got it as one manifold mesh, but I’ll be damned if I can find a way to print it without a massive amount of support materials. I guess if someone has a two-nozzle printer so they can use water-soluble supports, or wanted to do a lot of filing and sanding to get rid of the marks of supports. That probably isn’t worth the effort, but I’ll post the file anyway :)

It is bloody rude of the original sculptor to not make it easily 3d printable when they carved it x centuries ago XD

Yes you can. Not with the push of a button, but you can do it if you put in a bit of work. You’ve made me want to try in this case, because the statue is kind of neat.
Is that possible from blender?
I mean, I’m sure I could finagle it into a 3d printable mesh…
