Personally, I’ve been all for a headcanon emphasizing that Luna was (as well as Celestia), first and foremost, a warrior princess back in her glory days. Celestia has had time to grow out of that, while Luna… has not. She’s still of the opinion that wardrums are truly music to the ears, not just rallying noise. Electronica on the whole, but especially dubstep, is heavy on bass and percussive sounds, and so it stands to reason that, should the Princess of the Night decide to ‘get with the times’, music that is modern yet familiar would be something worth pursuing. The pursuit of dubstep would inevitably lead to our favorite DJ at some point.
 
I’m actually working on a fic about this very concept, except that the story also involves candy flipping.
 
As for the pic itself, I think I enjoy this version more, although I do prefer the original in terms of Vinyl’s face.
