I’m not going to try to speak for anypony other than myself, as I think we each have our own very unique ideas of what makes a great - or a good - superhero story, be it a movie, TV programme, or comic book.

But personally, I feel that Marvel make better superhero movies - each one a massive event in its own right, but also as a part of an even bigger overarching event - while DC make better TV shows; particularly but by no means limited to the Arrowverse.

But that’s all just my opinion. :)

Eh, I always thought that Starlight’s redemption arc is more like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: started off not-so good, then got pretty good with the finale, and is slowly getting better.

Besides, I actually liked Age of Ultron, and think that people focus too much on what they don’t like over the actual merits of the movie. There’s a lot to like about it.

I always did think Twilight is like Superman and Starlight is like Batman.

I was going with a comparison of Sunset and Starlight to the Avengers and the Justice League respectively- to the groups themselves and their popularity over time, not just to their movies. I don’t know if that’s what OP meant, though.

I’m sorry, The Avengers wasn’t that popular for a while?
Assuming we’re talking about the movie and not the comics, it was a Number 1 hit from DAY 1. I think it might have been the highest-grossing feature of 2012!

we still dont know if justice league is good or not, I mean batman v superman was shit but suicide squad and man of steel were decents…

If you’re going to throw a fit like that, expect someone to respond. In Sunset’s case, she got development in the traditional meaning of the phrase- her personality matured and she grew into a better person. The MCU characters were developed more in an out-of-universe sense, by being presented in a new way that made the concept of superheroes believable to many people who had found it too silly before. As for your opinions on the quality of the movies, all you’ve said is that you dislike them and Joss Whedon. It might help your case to present some reasons for that opinion.

As far as I saw, most people loved and continue to speak well of Starlight’s role as a villain, at least in her first appearance. You’d be hard pressed to find anyone who claims The Cutie Map was a bad episode. On the contrary, most times I’ve heard it discussed, it’s been called one of the best season openers. The rather significant portion of the fanbase that claims Starlight is the worst part of the show only became a thing when she was brought in as a main character in season 6.

You sure you don’t have that backwards? o.O
I liked Starlight from her first episode, and felt like there was an overwhelming negative response with the occasional person sharing my view.
And then over time it seemed like people calmed down (well, with some exceptions who were too traumatized by her actions to accept her not being executed, or whatever they consider sufficient punishment)

I’m confused, how do “great stories” and “character development” have any relation to the MCU? Don’t bother answering me, I’m just trolling. Joss Whedon is a fucking hack and the greater MCU is a Goddamned cancerous blight spreading across the face of modern cinema. Okay okay sorry, I’m done now, Pinkie Promise.
