Darkness. That was all I ever saw. Nothing but darkness. What happened to me? I couldn’t remember what happened before I was knocked out, no matter how hard I racked my brain. I could feel pain running up and down my body. I couldn’t move at all…I was helpless. I managed to open my eyes for just a moment. I saw several pastel colored…ponies…crowd around me. Who were they? What were they? Did they want to hurt me..?
At that moment, one pony approached me. She had a light pink coat, and persian blue eyes. She had a curly mane and tail, with colors of cyan, purple, and possibly deep blue. She had what appeared to be some kind of tattoo on her rear. She was actually kind of cute-looking. She had a look of concern on her face.
The pink mare looked at me, concerned. “Are you okay?”
I looked up at the mare, but I couldn’t say anything. It hurt too much to even try. I just shook my head.
“I’ll take it that means you can’t move then.”
I nodded, implying she was right.
“Okay… Umm…. “ Starlight looked around, trying to think of what to do.
After a few moments, pain rushed through my head, and I blacked out.
Starlight notices he’s not moving and nudges him with a hoof. “H-hey… Don’t do that.”
But I couldn’t hear her….I was unconscious..
“Okay Starlight, calm down. It’s just you and this… creature…. that can’t move…. and is twice your size…”
“Maybe… I could teleport him to the hospital… They heal ponies…. They should be able to help it… right?”
“No.” Said a voice. From the crowds came another pony. She had a mint-green coat, a white and mint-green periwinkle styles mane and tail, and a lyre on her flank. Her eyes were golden, or amber.
“Not even hospital ponies can help him….but I can.
“What makes you think you can help this… creature?” Starlight asked, pointing at him, accidentally poking him in the side. “Oops…” My body jolted in slight pain.
“Trust me, Starlight….Lyra Heartstrings, expert anthropologist is on the case!”
“You’re not saying that he… That’s crazy talk!”
“No, he’s not…gone. Just passed out, is all.”
Starlight sighed. “Then what are you going to do about him then?”
“I’ll take him back to my house. See what’s wrong with him.”
“And how will you know whats wrong?”
“Are you doubting the expert of human beings?”
“So… You’ve encountered… humans before?”
“Well…uh, no…come on, Starlight, you know I’ve studied humans for years! In books, at least.”
“I’m not sure book smarts will help you the same way as experience will.”
Lyra lifted the human onto her back with her magic, and began walking away. “I think I’ll know what to do with him when I get there. You coming?”
“Wha- Is… fine yes I’m coming.” Starlight said, following after Lyra.
Lyra smiled, happy she’d finally found, or met, a human being. She knew this day would come. She just knew.
