Um no even an earthpony could shoot it, they just use their tongue. I’m not saying it’s the best design to use with ponies just that it can work, though the sideways handle design is just as bad and pointless. You can just keep the human design and put the mouthgrip trigger on that without bending the handle, guns will still fire when turned sideways, the only design change needed is the mouth trigger and putting the sight on the side instead of the top.
 
Having the handle be bent make it cumbersome when holstered as the handle would stick out away from the body and because the trigger is more of a button it could easily bump into something as you’re walking and shoot yourself.
 
A small mix of pony design with the human design is far more practical than this.

It’s still lazy design. Hooves + finger sized triggers aren’t ergonomic. Without a mouthbit, mouthfiring wouldn’t be possible, either. Unless they’re a unicorn, then sure I guess whatever.

The receiver is facing the wrong way compared to the handle, if a pony used their mouth to shoot this gun they would shoot themselves in the cheek.
 
Also the human design for guns works fine for pony anatomy from what we’ve seen in the show, even if they used their mouths, they just have to remove the trigger guard.

The handle or mouthbit is placed on the side of gun so ponies can hold them in their mouths. This is because they don’t have hands, and putting human guns in pony art is frankly both lazy and retarded.
