One day it’ll probably hit her. If it hasn’t, then it’s just boiling underneath the surface. I think that to truly be as you describe is not very likely…
If anything, then we’re probably seeing proof that she cares in how she wants to have RD be a parent-figure for her a la’ Sleepless in Ponyville’s “Take me under her wing!”.
