Hm? Oh no, nothing like that. I think I’ve kinda heard it all at this point, and I make a point of keeping an open, approachable mindset. In all honesty I just forgot about this conversation. I don’t have much of a presence on derpi and I often forget to check it. Fimfiction’s my home. Sorry about that!

Talking RL here. I guess I have been kinda vague because I was trying to stay within the images rating, and avoid offending anyone.
 
But yeah, I get it. 24/7 ain’t for everyone. It’s just that other forms of BDSM feel less genuine I guess. Especially the whole “sub is the one really in control!” thing non-24/7 relationships got going. It takes the loyalty and selflessness I’ve come to admire in a lot of subs out of the equation, making it purely about sexual gratification.
 
And reading that last sentence, it was one of the reasons I was hesitant to be more open. I want to assure you, I don’t think non-24/7 subs are somehow inherently morally inferior to 24/7 subs. I know quite a few 24/7 subs who are absolute pieces of human garbage, using their status to justify their own self-loathing hatred of their own gender and/or ethnicity. Nothing is more uncomfortable than going on a blog ran by an sub Asain woman, getting hard, and then reading a page long rant about cunts and gooks.
 
Obviously, subs have a level of control Doms don’t in any sane and safe BDSM relationship, including 24/7 ones. There always needs to be a failsafe to stop abuse, and only the sub knows his/her limits. But for me, the ideal is that it’s just a failsafe, and otherwise the Dom is in control.
 
But again, not for everyone.

Not entirely sure if we’re talking RL or RP here. The latter is in the lives of the characters and only somewhat traces outside that depending on comfort level. For the former, petplay can still sorta ‘be there’ in the backs of the minds of the people involved, and expressed in small ways like deferential treatment, how you speak to one another, and so forth. That can be a fun little thing between partners that they can keep up indefinitely - I’ve had that ‘wink wink’ thing with people before. But wearing a collar to a restaurant or to work would probably be a little more than most people could handle, and of course there are going to be times where you’re not feeling well, or simply not in the mood.

Honestly, if we’re talking about pet play and not full on Master/slave stuff, it doesn’t seem that hard to do 24/7. Think about how much time you actually spend giving a dog commands in a day. Not that much. The dog is spending most of its day doing its own thing. So really, keeping a collar on at all times and always being available seems to be the only real requirements.

Well…I suppose that would depend on the people and just how intensive they want their lifestyle to be. If you mean an IRL thing, I would say it’s by ‘scene’, with maybe some light play outside of that. I for one couldn’t keep it up 24/7!
