I dun think he’s talking about comics, and even if he is, keep in mind he’s the one who does the dishes, cooking, cleaning, and errands, so when he DOES get time off, he deserves it.

…aaaaaaaaaaaaand now I wanna see a fast-forward like 20 years to when adult Princess Twiley is hugging teenage dragon Spike who is now like 15-20 feet tall. And she still won’t let him go. :D

He’s also sometimes the token ‘eww, girly stuff’ guy when they decide to play up his being a boy.  
Guys don’t do hugs :P  
But, yes, all ponies seem rather more physical than us by nature and/or culture, and Spike really is part pony (even putting aside the various head-canons related to what being hatched by a pony (Twilight) instead of a dragon might have done to him, he grew up in a pony town, has only really known ponies, and works under a pony as Equestria’s #1 assistant)

Spike’s actually a pretty “huggy” guy in canon. I can’t think of a single time he’s walked away from a hug in the show.
