And then it revealed that the changelings are behind everything, Twi is being impersonated by Chrysalis or whoever her descendant is, uses Spike’s resistance through her mole to her advantage as a way to keep the gullible masses afraid of boogeymen and justify the excessive force. The doctor finds the real Twi in some kind of coccoon or mechanism and pleads to be killed, yadda yadda yadda…
