Thank the heavens for pegasus magic!
Imagination of the designer, perhaps? Well whatever the case…

@mathprofbrony
I think the real question is, who thought doorknobs should be turned and not pushed?
Huh, the more you know. Thank you for sharing.

The internet works in mysterious ways.
Grace trying to use the knob was a- door -able
…wait, are you really the artist?
Nice on you, artist.
I then incorporated this into the plot, as I thought it would be funny.
though why this is coming up in a page entirely free of doors I don’t know.
She turned back when Celly went away, so maybe close proximity to her is what activates ponyness.
Pretty sure either are interchangeable (for a given side) and mount on a rectangular-crossection shaft going through the mechanism. I think actual reason is someone decided to be a greedy asshole and said “balls are better than having two assembly lines for two sides of doorhandle, all disagreeing are now out of job”.

You made me look up a history of doorknobs.
So, um, from what I can gather the round doorknob is a fairly late artifact coming during the early industrial period (1800-ish), and seems to have been popular in England and America, not so much outside the West. (This is a guess, as my sources are mostly about America.) The simple shape made for standardization of manufacture – there’s no wrong way to attach a spherical doorknob, whereas a handle is typically going to need to attach horizontally or vertically to the latch of the cylinder it’s moving. Less easy for the end user, but easier for the manufacturer – that’s industrialization for you. Anyway, that seems like a likely guess from what I’m looking at.
So is Grace a pony again next panel when Cewestia comes back?

Who thought door knobs would be a good idea anyway?
Indeed.
And door handles >>>> door knobs
