You’ll have to forgive me if I come to an image board about ponies to discuss ponies in a civil manner I might add people care about the show and like to talk to talk about it you must be new here or something to not know this, also nobody was fighting or namecalling it was just a discussion so calm down.
Like I could care less what people who immediately judge others for watching a show they like think.
I mention the fan spam on most twitter posts here on this site if people want to talk to the staff they need to learn some manners, respect and common curtesy before doing so and not act like a bunch of entitled brats.

At the risk of attracting scorn for being a BP (and yes, I am a BP, not a user posting anonymously), could either of you cite a fandom for a children’s cartoon (or book, or comic, whatever) taking minor continuity matters so seriously? I’m genuinely curious about this. The closest example I can think of is Steven Universe, which is definitely pitched at an older audience and written with the adult audience clearly in mind as well.
Look, if you’re willing to enter into arguments of this kind, at least have the decency to not post them as a Background Pony, /mlp/friend.
I take it that this is your first fanbase, then? Because your statement it’s incorrect. Be it children’s cartoons, comics, movies, series, books and any other media, every fanbase has this. Probably with different degrees but they have it.
I couldn’t care less what outsiders think about the bronies, mainly because I never considered myself one to begin with. I’ve always liked MLP before this generation. But again, you are incorrect for thinking that is something exclusive to this fanbase.
It’s true that the staff nowadays are not having easy with the fans, but you’ve said it yourself, we are on the 6th season and the fanbase has grown too big and it’s unavoidable things like this happen.
Personally, the ride needs to stop after the 2017 movie and move on onto the next generation. But putting my opinion aside, However, if the fanbase is a detriment on your enjoyment of the show, then it’s all your fault. Maybe you’re the one who needs to take a break from this.
PS: I get (and I agree completely with you) with complaining about the staff, DHX and the actors not having it easy, but Hasbro? They are have been pushing their way long before this gen and they are still doing it nowadays. It’s actually a good thing from them they were finally willing to improve the toys over these past few years. Otherwise we would still be stuck with Pinklestia and other examples. I have to give that one to this generation fans.

Well, duh? It was always supposed to be like that. Thing is, most fans in this gen are more into the show than the toys. That’s why they care too much about things like these. I mean, it’s been like, what, 5 years now? that shouldn’t be even a question nowadays.

I apologize for that, it was a hasty comment to make. My entire comment was somewhat hasty and I didn’t really put much thought into it.
Well let me stop you there, because I’m fairly certain that’s not true.
It’s no wonder outsiders think bronies are retarded. Nowadays we spend MONTHS debating over stupid shit nobody else cares about.
We’re on our sixth season, we should thank our lucky stars we got this far! Instead, this fandom is FULL of ungrateful whiners! It’s unbelievable! We harass the staff at DHX constantly over DUMB SHIT! “Thanks M.A. Larson!” And some of you wonder why he didn’t write for Season 6.
I wouldn’t want anything to do with MLP as a staffer with the way so-called fans treat them. We treat Hasbro like shit. We treat DHX like shit. We treat the actors like shit. We treat EACH OTHER like shit.
Some of us need to look at ourselves in the mirror and ask just what makes this fandom great. We used to adore the staff and thank them for their participation in the show we enjoy. The last few years have seen us turn ugly. If you don’t like the show anymore, then PLEASE do the rest of us a favor and GO AWAY so those who still like it can enjoy it freely.
You know, it’s actually very very common for a show to have one canon at the beginning, and alter it for plot convenience later. I’m pretty sure the original plan didn’t include any other alicorns at all, much less the ability to become one. You can follow what Lauren says, but her statements will never be official canon for the show unless Hasbro checks off on it. And Josh Haber didn’t know what he was doing? It’s pretty obvious that it had nothing to do with him knowing what he was doing and everything to do with some executive telling him ‘Put this in the episode’.
