*Silver and I made love for the first time last night. She was so overjoyed that I would indulge her wildest fantasy that half the time I had to kiss her just to shut her up. Although I had my reservations at first, our romp in the bedroom turned out to be a wonderful diverson - but I’d be lying if I said my thoughts weren’t elsewhere; namely, the knowledge that we were all living on borrowed time. The purple moon’s inevitable collision course with the earth was projected to be less than three weeks away. Neither the princesses nor the bearers of the Magic of Friendship could be found. The unicorn lottery proved to be a colossal waste of time as no group of unicorns, no matter how large, could move the moon off of its path. Nopony had an answer as to why any of this was happening. Some ponies were wracked with worry but believed that Celestia and Luna would stop the destruction before it happened. Some lacked the courage to see how this would play out and they took their own lives. And some, like Silver and myself, sought comfort in one another’s bodies to try and forget that we knew the inevitable was approaching quickly.*
*As I sit here and gently stroke Silver’s mane as she sleeps peacefully, I am envisioning how we will meet our end. I’d like to think that we’ll meet our death with dignity; that we’ll hold each other and I’ll tell her that I love her (a piece of information that I was foolishly only able to share with her once I learned of our situation) but in all likelihood, we’ll probably scream and cry as the land crumbles away beneath our feet. It will be very messy and extremely unpleasant.*
