Description
Emerald jumps out of bed and rushes over to Joyride’s room. In his excitement he barely registers that the bedroom is too large for the dimensions of the house.
Joyride’s room is mostly made up of one giant red bed. She is sitting up in it, propped up by many pillows and reading a book.
“Oh? breaking into a lady’s bedroom? Having some trouble sleeping lil’ perv? Maybe I can do something to help with that!” She says leaning over seductively.
Emerald dismisses the flirtation and explains the letter. At Emerald’s words she says,
“That excited to see Hope, huh? Yeah, we should totally see her when we are there. I know some good bars… Or I guess it’ll have to be cafes.”
Emerald is quickly shooed off to bed afterward, and the next day the make the rest of the uneventful walk to Whitherwater Castle. They see the tops of the castle town’s spires first, but it slips more and more out of view the closer they approach the giant, white, looming outer wall.
It is barely day when they arrive, and yet the gate is alive with activity, peddler’s and merchants making their way in and out of town, beggars, and important looking ponies minding their own business. There are even plenty of non-pony townsfolk about as well, but most of those tend of them seem to be zebra. If Emerald hadn’t come from a similar (though slightly smaller) city, this might have been overwhelming to him.
The pair move inside the gate and end Joyride leads Emerald to a fountain of what appears to be two pony heads, but the fountain is very old and worn, and it’s hard to tell.
“Is this the city square?” Emerald asks, looking around. The bustle is even worse here, and it appears to be the center of commerce.
“You kidding? This is just the trendy part of the east side of town. Whitherwaters has tons of places like these. You can get or do anything here, if you know the right people.” Joyride says
