My grandmother is 9 years older than my grandfather. Once your both adults, that stops really becoming that much of an issue.

Spike’s egg hatched when Twilight was a filly, so that means he’s like 5 years younger than her and a bit older than the CMC at least. I see nothing wrong with liking/loving someone who’s 5 years younger or older than you.
 
And i’m sick of “Spike’s real age” drama crap, so BUCK you if you still want to continue having that stupid argument on every picture of him. I’m only here to enjoy the picture, so no need to ruin it for everyone else if you don’t like it.

It’s mainly just weird to picture someone in a relationship with a dog. Technically speaking, it is okay in Spike’s case since he’s as intelligent as a human or an Equestrian pony, but to say it doesn’t look good is an understatement.

Also, the first time Sunset met Spike was when she tripped on his tail at the Crystal Empire palace, so she know’s what he looks like in the pony universe, and she’s a pony herself. So why would that even bother her if he’s a dog in the EG universe? if she’s not even a real human herself.
