Yep. The Bumblebee is truly a reboot and not a prequel to the first five live-action films because Bumblebee loses his voice on Earth to Blitzwing after arriving on this planet in 1987. Also, The Last Knight is the final film of the Bayverse Continuity due to the box office failures of that movie.

The films still sucked, though.

True, but to be fair, at least you got FiM as a result. And TF Prime, too.

Though if it wasn’t made by Bay, I’d imagine it would’ve been… average at best.

Personally, I think any content that dares to have the excuse ‘you have to shut your brain off to enjoy it’ needs to be purged. Since when did we get so apologetic of something being judged as ‘shit’ that we actually need to advocate lobotomizing ourselves, or lowering our base intelligence, in order to ‘appreciate’ it. Well, hey, in that case cannibalism isn’t so bad - you just need to starve yourself enough so as to appreciate the taste of human flesh.

I’ve had enough of this. Transformers 1 and 3 were great movies for what they were; personally, the only misstep in the series being Transformers 2, which I consider to be not canon after the first 30 minutes. It was a movie of giant robots bashing each other out for our entertainment. The whole lot of the community acts as if Bay took the franchise and crapped over it for all of us to smell and kept praising the original 1986 film as the superior version. Michael Bay’s Transformers duology stands just as well against the 1986 film, which, in my opinion, had just as much guilt in unexplored plot threads as the Bay films. I mean, come ON, you can’t tell me that you actually thought the last 30-40 minutes of 86formers was making enough sense not to confuse you? The pace was much faster than you would have expected, and resolutions were reached much too quickly for your liking, now didn’t they? Michael Bay did a decent enough job, and the only thing I hold against him is his casting of Megan Fox and the continued retcon of Megatron’s reasons towards his destination of Earth in the first place.

The new Transformers movies suck if you take them seriously. You kind of have to turn your brain off to enjoy them, and once you do that it is kind of fun to just sit by and watch the pretty explosions all over the screen.

The animated Transformers movie is and always will be the best Transformers film ever made.

The irony is that if the first Bay’s TF film didn’t become overwhelmingly successful there wouldn’t have been FiM. Or it would have been the same girly stuff like the previous shows.
As much as the TF trilogy sucked, its success motivated Hasbro to hire better writers for their MLP reboot.

True, I cried at Oprimus’ death in that one and not the Bay one, sure I was a kid when I saw it but I still get a little misty eyed from it.
