Happier before being a princess? I don’t think that’s true. She had fewer responsibilities but she wasn’t happier. Responsibilities can cause a lot of stress but they also give a great sense of fulfillment.

I actually wouldn’t mind Starlight becoming an Element of Harmony, Maybe even replacing Twilight as Princess when she gets her wings
 
It’d cause a shitstorm, but hear me out.  
Twilight was obviously happier before, so say something or some one screws up Starlights Ascension, and Twilight gets the idea to sacrifice her wings for Starlight to have her,
 
It’s the ultimate revenge.  
“Hey, you tried to destroy everything I worked for because you were jealous, so I’m gonna just give it to you because I was happier before.”
 
And Starlight would just be uncontrollably weeping with elation.
 
Even Starlight haters could agree with this logic.

Wasn’t Sunset’s element laser doodad shown to be very red? Like, deeper than Dash’s red? (oh god don’t murder me) Gonna go out on a massive limb and say that if this is foreshadowing for another element, it would be Starlight’s (im dead aaa). As for the element itself… uh, empathy, I guess. Or foregiveness? Hell if I know. All I know is I see green on this tree and Sunset’s “element” was not green.
 
Or maybe Honesty is the combination of the green and orange crystal leaf thingies :^D

I have a theory:
 
Sunset is Celestia’s daughter from Alt King Sombra, which explains why we haven’t seen the Mirror-verse version of her or her human counterpart.
 
Sunset was in love with him because he was so different from the normal one. But being together for so long would’ve (and did) lead to almost smashing their universes together
 
I think Sunset going to the human world created a right in destiny that would lead to Alt  
Sombra corrupting himself to save The prime Equestria.
 
And since The Mirror-Verse is a reflection of the prime universe, THIS would explain why the Crystal Heart killed  
Prime Sombra the first time, but showed him a vision that he could choose his own destiny.  
He had Victory in his hooves and after 1000s of years of darkness literally just decides “buck this, I’m out.
 
Almost as if his Past was not Today…
 
This could be were Sunset inherited her Mind Reading Ability, it just being a purified version of Sombra’s Fear Magic.
