SRD, to this day, remains one of the best things produced by this fandom.
Capn Pea can do silly and random, but he’s not really all that good at getting serious stuff right.
And that’s all I’ll say on that front, since I already said it elsewhere and it’s liable to cause a shitstorm and really not relevant to the comic itself other than indicating a pattern of behavior.
All told I’ve been disapointed with Three Apples. I loved Capnpea’s other short form comics and I’ve liked some parts of this one like Twilight’s nesting instinct. But it just seems like his style doesn’t work in longer comics and certainly his zany character’s don’t work for trying to have dramatic moments.
All in all I wish Three Apples was just a collection of one page comics instead of one long comic.
I debated whether or not to use that episode, but I felt that it was better to use one where the townsfolk were exhibiting pride and faith in Applejack, not gratitude.
Regardless, the fact that Applejack would buy into this claim (even that Applebloom would make it, to an extent) is when this series jumped the shark.
Yes, I know. It’s been rather absurd and that’s the point, but when you’re trying to go for drama, things need to be a little more consistent than when you’re going to random silliness.

The only people who look down on her are DT and SS. Her family on the other hand was nothing but supportive and understanding - they weren’t ever even patronizing.
Applebloom IS lashing out, but I think it’s also understandable that’d she’d be frustrated when she’s constantly being looked down upon by others for something that’s ultimately not her fault.
That’s kinda what I like about this comic. I feel as if this is a universe that could very well happen if the characters were just a tad different. They’re still very recognizable as the canon characters.

she was simply making the point that Applebloom shouldn’t pass judgement on cutie marks without ever having had one. And then AB attacks her, like a total cunt, without provaction.
Honestly everyone seems a bit OOC in this comic. It’s a cool concept though.

I’m actually sort of surprised to have not seen E.C.Major using number tags as earrings in any of his art; he’s pretty heavy into bondage gear imagery.
… You kind of make me want to see someone draw a pony wearing ear-tags like earrings.
(and today I also learned that ear tags on horses and ponies are actually illegal in the UK. Huh.)
Yeah, we mostly use ear tags for the pink and blue ones these days, it increases the resale value.

It’s because of a little thing called “cartoony art style”. You may have noticed one or two other discrepancies between these designs and actual realistic horses.
Don’t even think about it, everytime someone complains about the nose horns he makes them even bigger.
