I’m no fetishist myself for this material, but I always see these pictures getting ragged on for no real reason, getting voted down, etc. But you brought up a good many points Verbose.

I think you get that when there’s a specific fetish that only a small segment of a community likes. I went to look at the artist’s pictures: with my filters, this is what they do. Period.
 
As for the fetish itself, I guess a sneeze is an interesting physiological function. Actually, orgasms are described as being like sneezes for teens first learning about sex.
 
Personally, I don’t find anything intriguing about it, and it looks like this artist produces a bulk of the art I’ve seen of sneezes as a fetish, so I can just hide the artist and see if that removes the image “spurts” of it.
 
As for the BG defending the fetish, I don’t think anyone brought up how normal the fetish was. It certainly isn’t as odd as soiled diapers and morbid obesity, but it is truly a fetish: there is nothing inherently sexual about a sneeze (and open-mouthed sneezes are far from sanitary, so obesity does have that). And it would be a very hard sell to convince someone that it can be shown to a neutral party and they appreciate it unless the audience loves the details of an endured face and the artist is very good at expressions. Another artist (I know his name, but it’s not necessary to say) does a ton of underwater art indicating that it might be a true fetish (in that the art doesn’t have anything inherently sexual about it,) but it is objectively far more diverse than a sneeze and evokes feelings of wonder, fun, or even desperation.
 
So even if underwater art was posted in spurts, it’d be more easily consumed because of its more broad appeal. Swimming and being underwater mean more to more people than does sneezing.
 
 
Also “Not this again” or not understanding a fetish is far from being intolerant. No one is calling you a freak. But given that most people will say “It’s just a sneeze,” it’s hard to post somewhat average art (not saying the artist is bad or won’t get better) in spurts and it not get called spam. It doesn’t strike me as hate. DB’s community feels pretty level-headed to me. That make sense, Background Pony #5176?

Yes because obese ponies and diaper ponies is so much more “normal” then sneezing ponies.
 
Remember the love and tolerate part? I guess people who like sneezing ponies do not get the love or tolerance. Just the spewing of hate.

This is the kind of fetish that runs out of originality after the first pic. There’s only so many ways you can sneeze.
